Getting started

How does MyITTutor work?

MyITTutor is a curated tutoring marketplace, not an open directory. You tell us about your learner and what you want to achieve, our matching agent scores tutors against those specific goals, and you get a hand-picked shortlist. You then book a free trial with whoever you like best.

Is the first lesson really free?

Yes. Your first lesson with a tutor is a free trial with no obligation to continue and no card required up front. Meet the tutor, see how they teach, and only carry on if it feels right.

Do I get to choose my own tutor?

You choose — from a shortlist matched to your goals, level and schedule, rather than scrolling through hundreds of profiles. If none of your shortlist feels right, tell us and we'll match you with someone else.

What subjects and exams do you cover?

IELTS, IGCSE, DSE and SAT are among our most requested, alongside a wide range of academic subjects, world languages and professional and business English. If you don't see your subject, just ask — our tutor network is broad and growing.

Are lessons online or in person?

Lessons are one-to-one and online, so we can match your learner with the best-fit tutor wherever they are in the world — and you keep the flexibility of learning from home.

Which countries do you operate in?

We operate globally, with learners and quality-assured tutors across Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, India, the Philippines and beyond.

Lessons & tutors

How are your tutors selected?

Every MyITTutor tutor is vetted, interviewed and quality-assured by Train The Teacher (established 2008). We select for qualifications, character and a genuine commitment to your progress — not just subject knowledge.

What is a lesson report, and why does it matter?

After every session your tutor writes a detailed lesson report: exactly what was covered, how effectively, and what comes next. Combined with continually updated lesson plans and periodic progress reports, it means you can always see the value of every lesson — this is the core of the MyITTutor difference.

How often can we have lessons?

As often as suits you. Most families settle into a regular weekly slot, and you can set up recurring classes around your tutor's availability. You're always in control of the schedule.

Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?

Yes, within our scheduling policy — paid lessons can be rescheduled, and the team will always try to help if something unexpected comes up. The exact notice periods are shown clearly in your portal before you book.

What happens after the free trial?

If the trial clicks, you simply continue with the same tutor. If it doesn't, there's no obligation — we can match you with a different tutor from your shortlist at no extra cost.

What if my tutor isn't the right fit later on?

Just let us know. Fit matters more than anything, so we'll rematch you with another quality-assured tutor from your shortlist — there's no penalty for finding the right person.

Pricing & payment

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the subject, level and your location, and is always shown transparently before you commit — no hidden fees. And your first lesson is a free trial, so you can be sure of the fit before you pay for anything.

What currency will I be charged in?

You always see prices and pay in your own local currency. We handle any cross-border settlement behind the scenes, so there are no surprises at checkout.

How do I pay?

Securely through the MyITTutor portal. At checkout we show you the payment methods available in your country, so you can pay the way that's easiest for you.

Am I locked into a contract?

No long lock-in. You continue month to month for as long as it's working for your learner, and you can pause or stop when you need to.

Teaching with MyITTutor

How do I become a MyITTutor tutor?

Apply through our portal. We review your qualifications and experience, interview you, and quality-assure you with Train The Teacher before matching you with students — so you join a network with a genuine standard behind it.

How and when do tutors get paid?

Tutors are paid in their local currency on a regular payout cycle, handled centrally through the portal. We take care of scheduling and payments so you can focus on teaching.
